Mr. James Lindsey Barber, 94, of Luthersville, GA passed away Friday, 12 May 2017 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Mr. Barber was born 1 May 1923, son of the late John Kiser Barber and Roberta Nannie Hayes Barber. A lifelong resident of Meriwether County, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, was a retired plumbing, electrical, heating and air-conditioning contractor and was a deacon of First White Oak Grove Baptist Church. He also enjoyed farming, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter, Teresa and Steve Rich of Franklin, GA; son, Jerry and Margaret Barber of Fairburn, GA; sister, Mildred Crews of Luthersville, GA; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Katherine Brown Barber; daughter, Ann Lord; grandson, Jeff Barber; great-great-grandson, Rich Lawrence.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, 16 May 2017 in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, GA. Rev Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Luthersville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, 15 May 2017.
