Robert R. Coschigano, 87, formerly of Mt. Vernon passed away at his home in Hobe Sound, Florida on April 11, 2014. Robert served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a retired Detective of the Mt. Vernon Police Department. Robert is survived by his sister Alfina Iovino of Mt. Vernon, and his godson/nephew Robert Iovino (Ret. Captain NYPD), a niece Diana (Asst. Chief NYPD) and a grandniece Kirstyn. He is predeceased by his parents Salvatore and Isabella (Costeri) Coschigano, sister Lena, three brothers Ciro, James and Eugene. Family and friends will honor Robert's life at the Yannantuono Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm. A Blessing will be held on Holy Thursday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
