He married Lillian Pringle, the daughter of James Lewis Pringle & Dovie Estelle Polk Pringle, prior to 1930. The couple settled in Kalamazoo, Michigan. They were well-known cellists and performed with the Chicago and Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra and as guest musicians in other music venues. In addition to performing, Mrs. Baldauf was a respected cello instructor. Mr. Baldauf earned his living by working as a commercial artist and was a retiree of the International Paper Company.
Following retirement, he had more free time to pursue his other interests. In addition to being a draftsman, an artist and a musician, he was sculptor and an astronomer. His passion and support for the latter subject led to the planetarium at the Kalamazoo Public Museum being renamed in his honor, posthumously.
Mrs. Baldorf passed away, in January of 1964. He married Alma (nee Alcorn) Limoges on September 26, 1964 in East Lansing, Michigan. She was the daughter of Leroy & Ida M. Chaney Alcorn and the widow of Robert Edward Limoges.
•Obituary-Hans B. Balduaf's funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Truesdale Funeral Home, Kalamazoo, Mich. The body will be cremated.
Baldauf, 73, died in Kalamazoo Thursday morning. His widow, the former Alma Limoges, was chief deputy clerk in the U.S. District Court here for many years. Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Miss Anna Limoges, and a stepson, Robert Limoges.
