Born in Nanticoke on Jan. 17, 1922, George was the son of the late John and Margaret Pipan Kmetz.
George was a graduate of Nanticoke High School and shortly after graduation he joined the U.S. Army. While on active duty in New Guinea during World War II, George was seriously injured and had been disabled since that time.
He was a member of St. Faustina Parish, Nanticoke, and the Disabled American Veterans.
Preceding him in death were his sisters, Margaret, Elizabeth, Anna, Mary and Helen, and brothers, Joseph, Andrew, Frank, Stephen and John.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday from Earl W. Lohman Funeral Home Inc., 14 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Faustina Parish Church, Hanover Street, Nanticoke.
Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Nanticoke.
