Robert J. McCabe, 84, of Loudonville, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Smithville Western Care Center. Mr. McCabe was employed as a civil engineer for the city of Mount Vernon. He was an artist, well-known for his watercolor paintings, many of which hang in businesses in the Loudonville area. Mr. McCabe is survived by his daughter, Sara (Gary) Gamble of Westfield Center; grandchildren, Kim and Chad; and nephews, Mike (Jo) Shrimplin and Doug (Barb) Shrimplin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; son, Ronnie McCabe; and six brothers and sisters. Private graveside services will be held Thursday at Jelloway Cemetery in Loudonville.
