Elva was a descendant of Mormon pioneers from England and Scotland as well as Dutch and English American Colonials; the latter being descended from a long line of European royals and nobles. She was the mother of two sons, had 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and even more descendants from all of them. She was the 7th of 13 children of William Richard Sant and Rosa Alzina Sant (Clifford). All but one of them preceded her in death, as did her husband, John Edwin Bench, the father of her sons, Allen "Dick" Sant Bench and Jack Ross Bench Sr.
Dick had also passed. Jack was ill in Florida and followed her in death three years later.
It is unfortunate that she died alone with "no known family" to those who were entrusted with her care. She simply outlived most of them.
It is thanks to her that I know my family history, for she shared it with my mother while I was still in the womb. RIP, Great-grandma....you are not forgotten.
