James V. Adams III, 49 years of age died Monday May 1, 2017 with his family at his side.

He was born on April 9, 1968 in Louisville, Kentucky to James V. (Jim) Adams Jr. and Melva (Oates) Adams. Jim was a loving son, brother and teacher. His joyful and nurturing soul encompassed all who knew him. He taught elementary education for some 28 years with most of the time spent at Mt. Tabor Elementary School and the NAFC School System where he was an active member of the Teacher's Association. Jim's favorite activities were taking his niece and nephew to gymnastics, teaching his other nieces and nephew the art of cooking, watching them play baseball and listening to them all read. Jim will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family, fellow teachers and his many students that he nurtured throughout the years.

He was preceded in death and has joined his father James V. Adams Jr. who died March 14, 2017.

Survivors include: mother Melva (Oates) Adams; siblings Leigh Anne Adams McKown (Jamie) and Brad Adams (Lisa Peightal Adams). Aunts and Uncles Jane Adams Lang (Dale), Ann Adams Graham (Randy), David Adams (Kay Lou), Dan Adams (Donna), and Allen Adams (Rosetta). Nieces and nephews Emily, James, Lily, Adam and Meghan.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday May 7, at Kraft Funeral Service 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany. His funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel. Private entombment will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park Garden of Angels.
