Buhl, Robert E. 83; of Stuart; passed away April 11, 2017; at his residence in Stuart, FL with his wife at his side following a 2 year battle with AML.

He was born in Wyandotte, MI but resided in Trenton, MI, graduating from Trenton High School, Michigan State University and served in the Army in the Korean War.

Bob followed his father "Cy" in the Buhl Insurance Agency and served on local bank boards. Some of his favorite things were hunting, fishing, golfing, boating and he had a love for flying, having his pilot's license in earlier years.

He enjoyed taking his growing family to northern Michigan where he had a cottage on Heart Lake and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. After retirement Bob spent more and more time in Florida and became a permanent resident, but did still enjoy Northern Michigan during the summer months at his home on the golf course at Michaywe. But the winter months you would find him loving to sit on the back patio soaking up that warmth and the Florida sun on his face while watching the boats go by...when not on the golf course or boat with his dog Abby by his side. Bob was a very generous, funny and witty man with a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife Karen Buhl of Stuart and MI; sons, Robert Buhl Jr. and his wife Karen of MI, Brad Buhl and his wife Jennifer of MI; daughters Linda Bell and her husband Ken of KY, Laurie Blanzy and her husband Paul of MI and Bonnie Buhl Blanzy of MI; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and another child due in July 2017; and his first wife Jean Buhl of MI, mother of his 5 children; Karen's children, Matt and wife Charissa of MI, Colleen Morse and husband Dwayne of MI, Holly Matewicz of MI and Kelly Jenks of FL; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren with another child due in May 2017.

A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held Saturday, May 6, 2017 12:00 noon at the Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club.
