When Kevin arrived in Vietnam 20 December 1966 he was assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
The battalion was in participating Operation Medina and Charlie Company was operating in the
vicinity of the Hai Lang Forest when the Marines encountered hostile forces. Kevin died as a result of multiple fragmentation wounds to the body from a hostile grenade.
Survived by his parents, Thomas A and Veronica R Cahill and his brother, Jeffery Cahill all of Lynn, MA.
