He was owner/operator of Herrman and Sons Trucking and was employed in the farming business. He played saxophone and sang vocals with several bands throughout his lifetime. His most enjoyable moments performing were with "The Herrmanettes" playing alongside his family.
Survivors include four sons, Mike Herrman, Lakewood, Colo., James Herrman and wife, Ariana, and granddaughter, Harlee, McKinney, Texas, John Herrman and wife, Angella, and Justin Herrman, all of Olathe; two brothers, LeRoy Herrman and wife, Bernice, Hays, and Ron Herrman Sr. and wife, Theresa, Austin, Texas; and three sisters, Velma Carver, Liebenthal, Marilyn Randa and husband, Harold, Manhattan, and Karen Jarmer, Bay City Mich.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita (Kaiser) Herrman; his parents; and a brother, Vernon E. Herrman.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Cemetery, Liebenthal; followed by a celebration of his life in the Liebenthal school basement. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church Memorial Fund.
