Rick was born on May 18, 1962 in LaGrange, Ind. to William E. and Deloris A. (Myers) Schlabach; they preceded him in death.
Living his life in LaGrange County, he was a paint repairman for motorhomes. Rick was a lifetime farmer and loved working with his cows. He enjoyed his time outdoors but his greatest time spent was that with his daughters, grandchildren, family and friends.
Surviving are his two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Douglas Smith of Sturgis, Mich. and Natalie and Kevin Lilly of Bronson, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Hailee Smith, Deion Marshall, Alexus Ertman, Samantha Albano, Joshua Albano, Dylan Lilly, and Makayla Lilly; a sister, Debra Schlabach; a niece, Kelsey Schlabach; and his longtime friend, Kathy Verity of Fremont, Ind.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering was held at his home in Howe, Ind.
