Cathy Jeanene Adams, 50, Springfield, passed away at Cox South on February 2, 2007, after a short illness. She was born July 18, 1959, to Carolyn and James "Oscar" Spell in Morrisville North Carolina. Cathy enjoyed writing poetry and had an infectious laugh. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Paul Bohnsack, her aunt, Avis Goodin and her sisters, Debra Lynn Palumbo and Janet Hall. She is survived by her children; Jennifer Gideon, of Lampe, Mo., Brandi Adams, of Grand Prairie, Texas, James Pendergast and Zachary Pendergast, both of Austin, Texas, Catherine Pendergast, of Honolulu, Hawaii, her siblings; Ray Spell, of Marshfield, Mo., Lori Gordon, of Fayetteville North Carolina, Marcelino Flores, of Boston, Mass., Kym Izer, of Alden, Iowa, and Paula Pendergast, of Honolulu, Hawaii, six grandchildren; Ariana, Darien, Deserae, Dalton, Destany, and Darland. She is also survived by her faithful dog named Robinette. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2007, at the Willard Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, under the care of Klingner-Cope Family Funeral Home at White Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will follow in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 5234 W. State Hwy EE, Springfield.
