Henry Parker came to Texas as an Army Pvt. during the Mexican War, only to get sick and be discharged near San Antonio. He settled on land in Milam. Married Nancy Black in 1850, and raised a family. Nancy became mentally ill about 1876, and was admitted to the Texas State Hospital in Austin in 1877, where she stayed until death in 1902. Henry disappeared from his family in Milam in 1877, and re-appeared in Granbury, Tx. the same year, and married Elizabeth O'Neal Quarles. A son, Frank Parker, resulted from this union. Henry broke his hip at home in Neri in 1902, resulting in his death on 9Apr1902. He, and his Elizabeth, are both buried in unmarked graves in this cemetery.
