David Findley Wheeler of Weston, MA died on January 4, 2012. Beloved husband of Bronia (Sielewicz). Devoted father of Lewis D. Wheeler of Boston. Also survived by his sister, Janet Wheeler Walter of NJ, sister-in-law, Joyce Sielewicz and nephews, Michael Sielewicz of Newport, NH and David Walter of Roslindale.

Predeceased by his brother-in-law, Edwin Sielewicz and nephew, David Sielewicz.

He was a respected and award-winning theatre director, twice directing on Broadway and founding Artistic Director of Theatre Company of Boston (TCB). He was Resident Director of American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge for 25 years, and directed nationally at regional theaters, as well as in France and Portugal.

He taught at Harvard, BU, Brandeis, MIT. He was a graduate of Harvard University, Class of 1947, where he also received his MA.

He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, 331st Infantry Regiment, having served his country during WWII campaigns in Rhineland and Ardennes, Central Europe.

Interment will be private.
