O. Frances ABEL of Flint, age 88, died Friday, October 24, 2003 at her residence.

Funeral service will be held at 1PM Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at Court Street United Methodist Church, 225 West Court Street in Flint, Dr. Steven J. Buck officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to Court Street United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Visitation 3-8PM Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Abel will be at the church from 12PM Tuesday until the time of the funeral.

Mrs. Abel was born in Grant City, Missouri on March 18, 1915, the daughter of the late Scot and Lelia (Scott) Richardson and was a resident of the Flint area since 1940.

She was a member of Oak Park United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was a current member of Court Street United Methodist Church. Mrs. Abel retired as Secretary of the Science and Mathematics Department at GMI, after 32 years of service.

Surviving are daughter, Phyllis and husband Robert Bentley of Davison; son, Richard and wife Patricia of Davison; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1948 and several siblings.
