MOORE
Michael Ray Bourland, was born Aug. 6, 1952, to Glenna and Hiram Bourland at Fort Sill, OK and graduated from Lawton Eisenhower in 1972. After serving four years in the Marine Corps, he married the Love of his life, Lenita Bourland, on May 17, 1978. He passed away after fighting a good fight with cancer. Mike worked for FAA for 27 years and retired in Sept. 2013. He was proud to have served in the Marines and never had a dry eye when he saw the raising of the flag or heard the National Anthem. He loved church first, and going out with his wife and friends; interests included fishing, camping, motorcycling (in his younger days), RVing and traveling with tour groups. Mike and Nita raised three fur babies, Duke, Peanut and Babe. The Love Mike had in his heart showed through his Love of Christ every day. He was the first one to thank a veteran or a police office and would always give a lending hand. Even though he never had children of his own, he was always there for children and youth. He has worked with young people through bus ministries and youth ministries. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Glenna and Hiram Bourland; one brother, Douglas; and all three fur babies, Duke, Peanut and Babe. Survivors include his wife of 38 years Lenita Bourland from Moore; his sisters, Micky Weber and husband Richard from Lawton; Vicki Bryan from San Antonio, TX; Debbie Bourland from San Antonio, TX; and Donna Martin from Lawton, OK; one brother, Rodney Bourland & wife Sarah from Lawton, OK; his sister-in-law and husband, Mary and Joe Ray from Round Rock, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews and cousins. Our Thanks goes to Integris Hospice, Fresh Start Church, New Heights Baptist Church, and to all that have visited and prayed for him daily. Please donate to one of the churches listed above in his honor or to the church of your choice because Mike's heart was always in the church. He may be gone, but his Spirit lives on shouting a big "Amen," "Praise The Lord," and "Glory" from the Heavens above! Mike was a friend to all and we surely be missed. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017, at 12 p.m. at the Fresh Start Community Church with Pastor Dave Dooley and the Reverend Kevin Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
