87 yo h/o Maggie Gourley,s/o WH Gourley and Maggie Vanstavern, died from cardiac disease per death cert.

(Correction: the mother listed in the current bio is actually his wife.)

William Harvey "Harve" Gourley was born on January 25, 1867, to William Harvey "Bill" Gourley and Elizabeth "Eliza" Ann Long Gourley. His father ran the general store in his hometown of Competition, Missouri, and Harve inherited the role. In 1889 he married Harriet Magdalene Vanstavern; they had 5 children. Harve was Postmaster at Competition for several years and also served as Justice of the Peace. Many couples from that era have his signature on their marriage records. He built a new concrete block store building, completed in 1912, with the blocks being made onsite with gravel from the nearby creek.

After Maggie's death in 1919, Harve married Lula Leota French Stewart in 1920 and they had one daughter. After Lula's death in 1930, he married Mary Melinda Barker Davis in 1932. In their final years, they moved to the Matthews Nursing Home near Dove. She died in 1952 and Harve followed in 1953 at the ripe old age of 86.
