A sometime actress, Bertrand appeared in a 1971 episode of the Raymond Burr television series, "Ironside", entitled, "Love, Peace, Brotherhood and Murder", and the films, "Lookin' To Get Out" (1982), and "The Man Who Loved Women" (1983). In 2005, Bertrand was also executive producer for a film called, "Trudell." She died from cancer at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, at the age of 56.
