William Cornelia Vaughn Huggins was born 26 Aug 1862 in Meriwether County, GA. She died 17 Jan 1938 and is buried in Friendship Cemetery in Lamar County, TX. She married N. L. Huggins on 10 Oct 1878 in Arkansas. She was the daughter of William Wesley and Catherine Eda Taylor Vaughn. Their grave is unmarked except for a log laying long ways at their head. The father of W. C. Vaughn Huggins was killed at Gettysburg. He was wounded on 2 July 1863 and died 14 days later. Her birth date differs in her obituary. The family bible of a daughter gives her birth year as 1862. The obituary says 1863. They were my husbands Grandparents. *THE PARIS NEWS, 18 Jan 1938: 'Mrs. W. C. Huggins Called by Death. Funeral Services Set for Monday Afternoon At Cemetery. Mrs. W. C. Huggins died at 11:55 o'clock Monday night at the home of a daughter, Mrs. T. J. Tallant here. She was born in Georgia, August 26 1863. The funeral services were arranged for 3:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Friendship cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Forrest E. Johnson of Ramseur Baptist tabernacle, Manton-Fry funeral home being in charge of arrangements. Cecil Foster, Guy and Henry Smith, John Tonkinson, Rex Dicken, and A. E. Asmus were named pallbearers. Surviving are eight children, Mrs. A. D. Wisner of Garrett's Bluff, Mrs. Tallant, Mrs. E. E. Asmus, A. B., Lowell and Alpha Huggins all of Paris; Ezra Huggins of DeKalb and Ira Huggins of Pasadena, Harris Co.'
