Cecil Ray Cook born March 16, 1953, departed this life March 2, 2017 after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Cecil and Betty Cook.

He attended the Log Chapel Church at Mikes Fork Road, Hewett. He was a coal miner for 37 years and a member of the UMWA. He loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Cook; sons, Travis Ray Cook at home and Joey (Jessicia ) Cook of Hewett; daughter, Dawn (David) Helton of Six Mile; grandchildren, Kayla (Shane) Hager, Hailea Helton, Elijah Helton, Abigail Cook, Aiden Cook; great-grandchild, Landon Hager; brothers, Jackie (Beverly) Cook, Micheal (Carol) Cook, Danny (Beverly) Cook all of Hewett and Todd Cook of Weston; sister, Pam Ferrell and companion Gene Workman of Hewett; and many nieces and nephews. Cecil will be sadly missed by many friends and loved ones.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 6 at Log Chapel Church, Hewett with Dennis Dent officiating. Burial will follow in Wallen Cemetery, Mikes Fork Road, Hewett.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. at the church on Sunday.
