Gertie was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Long and Nova Dee Foster Long. She was the granddaughter of Charles Eugene Long and Lena Macie Bowen Long, and of Edmund Frank Foster and Emma Crane Foster. She was at one time married to Dickey Lavon Rasure and had 2 sons Ken and Frank.

Graveside services for Gertie Rasure, 79, Denton, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 22, at Haven of Memories Memorial Park, Canton, with Bro. Mike Newby officiating, under direction of Eubank Funeral Home, Canton. Mrs. Rasure died January 18, 2007, in Denton. She was born February 16, 1927, in Edgewood to Andrew Jackson and Nova Dee Foster Long. She was a member of Walnut Creek Church of Christ in Garland. She was a member of the Irving Senior Center. She grew up in East Texas, later moving to the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Frank Rasure, Denton, and Ken and Kathryn Rasure, Wooster, Ark.; grandchildren, Claressa Brent, Chris Rasure, Katelyn Rasure and Jessica Rasure; great-grandson, Hayden Rasure; brother, Leslie Long, Midland; and other relatives.
