Born in Pineville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Berry P. and Nannie Crisp Laws. She had worked in the cafeteria at the St. Camillus Academy in Corbin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Adkins Jr.; and her brother, Jess Laws.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Adkins of Berea, Kentucky, and Beth Mink and husband Terry of Alabama; son-in-law, Buddy Weddle of Corbin; siblings, Betty Jenkins of North Carolina, Don Laws of Pineville, Kentucky, and Margaret Garrison and husband Sam of Tennessee; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be at 11am Saturday, June 18, 2011, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Lynn Camp Cemetery.
