Gracie was my fourth heeler. My first one, Stella had died in March of 2003 from complications when having puppies. I bought a second red heeler which I named Sadie Rosalie. I had her for about 4 weeks when someone ran over her while my mother & I were on a short trip. Sadie died in April of 2003. Before we returned, my father bought a third heeler, a blue heeler male: Sullivan William. He lived for 9 months, dying around September 2003. My father then traded 100 bales of hay for my last red heeler which I named Grace Emanuela "Gracie." Unfortunately, my father got sick and was unable to train her to round up the cattle and after she caught a chicken and killed it... she basically spent the rest of her life on a cable. My mother's dog, Oscar slept by her at night and in her dog house in the winter. When we buried Oscar, Gracie came over to sit nearby as though she was mourning too. Now Gracie and Oscar are together and she can run... she can run as far and as much as she wants, all with her best friend Oscar
