People was referred to Louise either as Miss Louise by those who weren't family or Lou/Aunt Lou by her family. Following the death of her mother in 1985 she became the much loved matriarch of the family. She looked after her great-nephew & great-niece during their time growing up and was the grandmother figure in their lives.

Louise suffered her first heart attack in 1984 and would remain a heart patient the rest of her life. When her Great-Nephew John died in an auto accident in 1997 she was heartbroken and requested to be buried next to John upon her own death. When that occurred in 1999 Kristen-Diane was extremely heartbroken & ready to give up yet her Great-Aunt's friend told her not to give up that Louise would want everyone to go on because she was in a better place.

Louise was survived by Nieces Kathy Thompson Pollock, Melissa Thompson Holliman, Nephews in Law Dennis Wayne Pollock, Karl Holliman, Sr., Great-Nephew Karl "Chris" Holliman, Jr. Great-Nieces Kristen-Diane Laura-Jacqueline Pollock & Victoria L. Holliman Great-Great Nephew Matthew B. Brady (son of John W.H. Pollock) & preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Wesley "Jack" Stalvey (with whom she had no children), Great-Nephew John William Hampton "Bill" Pollock, and several siblings.
