Rev. Billy Ray Locklear, 66, of 3463 Oakgrove Church Road was born February 28, 1944 and departed this life on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. Rev. Locklear was the CEO of Billy Locklear Evangelistic Association. Surviving are two daughters: Ms. Paula Severita Strickland of Lumberton and Ms. Antoinette Renee Locklear of Smithfield, NC; a god-son: Mr. Nathan Hunt, Jr. of Lumberton; three sisters: Ms. Brenda Lawson, Ms. Lois Griffin and Ms. Linda Baxley all of Lumberton; five grandchildren: Santana Z. Patterson, Triston Strickland, Jasmine Smith, Kross Smith and Isabella Goins; a great-grandchild: Riley Patterson and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Mr. Reedy P. Locklear and his mother: Ms. Tessie Ann Sampson Locklear; a brother: Mr. Johnny Redell Locklear and a sister: Ms. Elaine Oxendine. The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, 2010, at the Billy Locklear Evangelistic Association building with the Evan. James Harris, Rev. Walt Smith, Rev. Alan Moore and Apostle Washington Coleman, Jr. officiating. Entombment will follow in the Locklear Family Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 18, 2010, after 5:00 p.m. at the Billy Locklear Evangelistic Association Building.
