FIORE CASTRONOVA, 93, of FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, died Friday, Jan. 19, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. He was born in Jersey City and moved to Freehold at a young age. He was a self-employed mechanic working out of the garage he owned in Freehold.
He was predeceased by his wife, Helen Doris Cottrell Castronova, in 1999, and 11 brothers and two sisters. Surviving are a son, Fiore Castronova Jr. of Freehold Township; two daughters, Eleanor Mae Cole of Freehold and Maryanne Ball of Shamokin, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St., Freehold. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Maplewood Cemetery, Freehold.
