Herbert Buchanan, 78, of Rockville, MD, passed away Sunday January 29, 2017 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD.
Born in Chatham Hill, VA, he is the son of the late Sallie Buchanan.
He served in the US Army for 2 years. Later he retired from the trucking industry after a long career as a Teamster's driver.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Buchanan, of Rockville, MD; daughter, Connie Buchanan and son-in-law, Douglas Johnson; Grandsons, Jake Milligan and Dylan Milligan; Sister-in-law, Marie Phipps and many special nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday February 14, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, VA. Internment will follow at Ridgedale Cemetary, Rich Valley, VA with military rites being conducted by Francis Marion VFW post 4667.
