The Lock Haven Express Feb 4 2017:

A small committal service was held Friday Feb 3 2017, at Rest haven Memorial Park for John F Fenstamaker Jr 306 Clinton St Avis who died Feb 1 2017.

Born Mar 30 1933 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late John F & Catherine M (Baldwin) Fenstamaker. John was a 1951 graduate of the Mechanicsburg High School. Following high school he served in the U.S. Army as Sq. Leader in Company E 87th Inf. John was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal and the United nation Service Medal. He participated in the Battle of Outpost Harry on June 10 and 11, 1953.

Following his service he began working at Piper Aircraft in Sept 1955 and continued working there for 29 years. He was then employed for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the Laurelton Center for 12 years. John enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and Jeopardy and loved trout fishing.

John is survived by his wife of 31 years Sarah Jane Eggler Allen Fenstamaker at home, and two sons Gary L Fenstamaker of Bowie MD, Bryan Fenstamaker of Castanea and a daughter Amy (Robert) Runyon of Fountain Col & one stepdaughter Vickie (Floyd) Robinson of Howard.

He was predeceased by two sons Alan & John Fenstamaker and one stepson Ray Allen Jr.
