Francis Hexamer Fatally Injured

Francis T. Hexamer, 47, 807 E. 31st St., a Delco-Remy employe, was fatally injured Wednesday afternoon in Plant 11. Employed in the production control he had sought to jog loose a jam in a machine and was struck by a steel beam as the machine suddenly began re-operation, stated Madison County Coroner Cecil Carmichael.
Mr. Hexamer was born Dec. 28, 1919 in Anderson and was a lifelong resident here. He had served in the Navy in World War II. He had been employed 26 years at Delco-Remy Division and was a member of the UAW-CIO 662.
Surviving are the widow, Eileen: three children, Michael, John and Betty Rose, all of Anderson; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Carroll of Anderson; two brothers, James and Robert Hexamer of Anderson; and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Baker Brothers Funeral Home by the Rev. John Wine. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends will be received after 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
