D. M. Miner died at his home on the Eaton Road last Saturday, aged 78 years. Mr. Miner was born in Friendship, New York where he lived with his parents and grew to manhood. In 1865 they moved to the farm north of this village. Mr. Minor's mother died in May last and during his long life he had scarcely bend separated from her. He was a man of unusual ability as an agriculturist and for a long time of years the Minor butter was in special demand in this section. For quite a number of years he has run his farm in partnership with his son Garrett Whitford. After a short time they dropped the manufacture of butter and took up diversified farming with wonderful success. Mr. Miner was able to take an active part in the affairs of the farm until a little more than a year ago when his heart failed him and h was forced to retire. He was a member of the Baptist church and of the Hamilton Grange. Although he was always in attendance at the affairs of his community yet he found his greatest pleasure in his own home. He was an ideal neighbor and will be sorely missed. He was a loving husband and father and the whole will miss his wise councils and sunny genial companionship There will be one vacant chair for they have laid him at rest in Woodlawn Cemetery. Has pastor Rev. P. L. Powell officiated at the funeral services. He is survived by his wife and one daughter Mrs Garrett Whitford; by one sister Mrs Celia Albe, and by 2 brothers Seth Minor of Hamilton and Dr. A. F. Miner of Texas.
