Dorothy A. "Dotty" (McCarthy) Kearney passed away at the Winchester Hospital on March 6, 2015. She was 76 Years old.
Dotty was born in Medford, the daughter of the late Timothy J. and Dorothy F. (Brown) McCarthy.
Dotty was very active with the former Sacred Heart Parish in Medford, along with her husband Walter. They both taught in the CCD Program and supported the CYO Program. Dotty was also past president of the Sacred Heart Ladies Solidity and served as an "Extraordinary" Eucharistic Minister. She will be lovingly remembered by her family as someone who always enjoyed good times together.
Beloved wife of 50 years to the late Walter T. Kearney, devoted mother of John M. "Jack" Kearney and his wife Diane of Billerica, Maura Kearney-Mulcahy and her husband Daniel J. of Medford, Patricia M. Ricks and her husband Dr. Jon of Prosper, TX, Walter T. Kearney, Jr. and his wife Kristen of Attleboro. Dorothy was also the loving and cherished Nana of Jennifer, Derek, Shanon, Kasey, Devin, Kayla, Kristy Lee, Ashley, Hayden, Brian, Grant, Ryan, Kaitlin and Kylie. She was also the sister of the late Timothy J. McCarthy, Jr. and Phyllis M. Patten.
The funeral procession will be held from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) in Somerville on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Clement Church in Medford at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford
