Paul R. Achtelik, 82, of North Dighton, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of fifty-four years to Lois M. (Guest) Achtelik.

Paul was born in Minneapolis, the son of the late Paul C. and Clara (Yulga) Achtelik. He was a graduate of Vincentian Institute, in Albany, New York, class of 1952. Mr. Achtelik then served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He then had fifty four years of Governmental Service, retiring in 2013. He was a communicant of Saint Nicholas of Myra in North Dighton and also served as a Eucharistic Minister, on the Parish Dinner Committee and the planning committee. Paul cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors, bird watching, bike riding on the Cape Cod Canal, and being on his boat the “Coffee Cup”. He was also an avid New England Sports fan.

Survivors besides his wife are two daughters: Mary F. Dean and her husband Billy of Monument Beach, MA; Kathleen M. Ribera and her husband Paul of Hummelstown, PA; a son: Robert B. Achtelik of North Dighton, MA; three grandchildren: Angela, Paul, and Jonathon of Pennsylvania; nine great grandchildren: Boston, Jaelyn, Brady, Brycen, Jaxson, Joey, Promise, Jocelyn and Ella; three sisters: Beverly Meyer, Ellen Seitz and Charlene Hunt all of California; along with several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert D. Achtelik.

His family will receive relatives and friends in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in Saint Nicholas of Myra Church, 499 Spring Street, North Dighton, burial to follow in Saint Francis Cemetery, Taunton MA.
