Perry was the third of five children, born into a farm family. Perry was a farmer upon marriage, became a plasterer, then a salesman and businessman.

For a number of years he ran a saloon and was involved in a shooting in his establishment after an altercation with a customer he threw out who returned with a pistol; the customer was killed. His death certificate gives his occupation as merchant of cigars, etc.

Gravesite Details

His death certificate states burial at Dunkirk. As the Shatto family used the IOOF cemetery it is assumed this is the correct cemetery.
