Patricia Ackerman, age 75, died peacefully on February 22, 2016. She was born on September 11, 1940 in Cleveland, Ohio; the daughter of Thomas and Mary Cecelia English. Pat graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Cleveland in 1958 and worked as a secretary at A.T.&T. for several years before moving to St. Clair Shores in 1970. Pat was an active parishioner at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores for 45 years. She worked as a customer service representative at Art Van Furniture's main store in Warren for several years. Pat was actively involved in her children and grandchildren's lives. Mrs. Ackerman is survived by her three children; Patty Grayson, Ray Ackerman and Brian Ackerman (Michelle); and her four loving grandchildren; Nicholas and Jenna Grayson and Brendan and Lauren Ackerman. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday at the A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Avenue at Vernier Road in Grosse Pointe Woods. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Her body will lie instate at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack at Overlake in St. Clair Shores from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until mass begins at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Joseph Tuskiewicz will officiate. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township. The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to St. Joan of Arc School, 22415 Overlake; St. Clair Shores, MI 48080.
