SIMMESPORT Services for Ellis Joseph Bordelon will be at 5 p.m. today in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Hixson Bros., Marksville. Bordelon, 29, of Simmesport died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 1994, in Simmesport. He was a commercial fisherman. Survivors include one daughter, Brittany Austin of McRea; his parents, Elbray "Jr." Bordelon and Jenny Bordelon, both of Simmesport; one brother, Chester L. Bordelon of Simmesport; and one sister, Fay Dupont of Simmesport. Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of services in the church.

Apparent suicide in SIMMESPORT
A Simmesport man died from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at his home Thursday afternoon. Ellis Joseph Bordelon, 29, was found dead in his home around 12:25 p.m. Thursday. Authorities said Bordelon shot himself in the head with a 12-gauge shotgun.
