Hazel "Elaine" Rairdon, age 77 of Bellingham passed away suddenly on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. She was born on December 11, 1930 at her home in Bellingham to Magnus and Bendicte (Ericsen) Olsen.
Elaine graduated from Bellingham High School in 1948 and attended Whatcom Community College. She became an accountant/ bookkeeper and was the owner of H.E.R. Services in Seattle, WA. Elaine loved to travel and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was an excellent baker and was an expert at making cinnamon rolls, sausage rolls and her wonderful ginger snaps. Elaine was very handy and enjoyed home repair, sewing her own clothing, and playing computer games.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Oscar and Arvin Olsen. Elaine is survived by her resident companion of 25 years, sister, Ruth Huffine; son, Eric Rairdon; Goddaughter, Paula Vail (Charles); sisters-in-law, Marie and Rena Olsen; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives in Norway. A special thanks to Berit Vassdal, our helpful and loving "adopted sister".
