Music Composer, Arranger. He was well known for arranging and composing music for some of the top singers of the 20th Century such as Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, Ethel Merman, and Mel Torme. He studied at UCLA. In 1955 he was hired to lead the orchestra on "The Gary Crosby Show" on CBS radio. After turning 25, he was named the head of artists and repertoire at Verve Records. While at Verve Records, he arranged and composed for such artists as Fitzgerald, Crosby, Toni Harper, Jane Powell, Ricky Nelson, Fred Astaire, Bobby Shaw, and Gogi Grant. After leaving Verve Records, he became the musical director for NBC's "The Eddie Fisher Show. He also did musical work for various television shows and films such as "Five Guns West" (1955), "The Pajama Game" (1957), "Shower of Stars", and "General Electric Theater". He also arranged the music for the Broadway version of "The Pajama Game". In the early 1960s he became a television producer and writer and continued in this work both in Europe and the United States for the remainder of his career. He also continued arranging and composing music as well.
