Funeral services for Phillip Elbert Klapper, 66, are pending at Knowles Funeral Home in Quanah.

Mr. Klapper died between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday at his home in Lazare, of an apparent heart attack, and was found Thursday morning by a brother.

Born July 21, 1907 in McKinney, he moved to Cottle County in 1922 with his parents. He married Minnie Goodin in Quanah in 1927.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Billy of Pampa, Gene of Childress and Joe of Amarillo; two daughters, Johnnie Faye Taylor of Quanah and Dorothy Goodson of Amarillo; four brothers Vernon of Lazare, Malcom of California and Kenneth and Johnny of Arlington; one sister, Wretha Snodgrass of Amarillo and nine grandchildren.
