Lois Jean Adams, 84 of State Route 73, Otway, Ohio, passed away Tuesday January 3, 2017 at her home. She was born October 9, 1932 in Pike County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Bellivelle and Jettie Charles Honaker. On April 12, 1952 Jean was united in marriage to Charles Tunis “Tuny” Adams who preceded her in death on July 12, 2011. Surviving is a daughter, Marsha Phillips and husband Jim of McDermott, Ohio; two grandsons, Jeremy Thompson and wife Lori of Otway, Eric Thompson and wife Karrie of Wallingford, Kentucky; two great grandsons, Logan and Landon Thompson, two step-grandsons, Alex and Andrew Bellomy, and a sister, Eileen Miller of Otway as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband Jean was preceded in death by three brothers, Kermit, Ernest and Arnold Honaker, and three sisters, Fern Davis, Myrtle Honaker and Flo Miller.
Jean was a former employee of the Williams Shoe Factory, a cook at Otway Elementary School, former employee of Karel of Cumberland in Rarden, Ohio and attended of the Otway Christian Union Church.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 7, 2017 at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway with Duane Knittel officiating. Burial will follow in Garvin Cemetery, McDermott. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday and from noon until the service on Saturday.
