Frank was married to actress Mae West #1089 from 1911 to 1943. His real name was Frank Szatkus. They married April 11th, 1911, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their marriage was a secret until 1935 when a clerk found the marriage certificate and outed the secret. West denied that she was married to him at first - said the woman's name wasn't hers. Frank sued her for admission that she was his wife and in 1937, she finally admitted to it. When he died in 1966, she said he would "remain in the wastebasket of her memories."
Frank made the move to Henderson with his partner in show and friend, Trixie LaMae. Trixie outlived her partner by 31 years. She, too, is buried in Saint Louis Cemetery, here.
