MANSFIELD: After a brief illness, Patricia Clara Stuhldreher Baki, 89, passed away early Sunday morning, September 18, 2011.

After a brief illness, Patricia Clara Stuhldreher Baki passed away early Sunday morning, September 18, 2011. Born March 17, 1922 to George and Clara M. (Gobel) Stuhldreher in Mansfield, Ohio.

A graduate of St. Peter’s High School class of 1941, Pat married Al Baki during WWII in Texas. Together nearly 50 years, Pat and Al raised 6 active children. Although Pat worked for Sears over 40 years, she found time for being a Girl Scout Leader, tending voter registration, bowling and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, various local Sororities, The Women’s Club and the Leiderkranz. After retirement, Pat and Al enjoyed spending the winter months in Bonita Springs, Florida.

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her 6 children, 17 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. The annual vacation at Gem Beach was always the highlight of summer and also traveling abroad.

Pat is survived by her daughters, Carol and David Spain of Mansfield, Joy and Jim Huber of Wauseon, Janet and Jerry Scharosch of Mansfield and Sharon Baki and her spouse Art Majtenyi of Raleigh, NC; sons, Gary and Jane Baki of Mansfield, Michael Baki and his wife Kerry Barnett of Blairstown, NJ; 17 grandchildren, Karen Spain (Rob Blunk), Kevin and Keith Spain, all of Columbus, Michelle (Joe) Dembek of Plain City, Craig Huber of Chicago, Kim (Brad) Bertke of Sylvania, Laura and Matt Cochran of Dublin, OH, Andy Scharosch of Mansfield, Chas (Jennifer) Baki of Anchorage, AK, Megan (Luke) Castanien of Highlands Ranch, CO, Matt Baki and his finaceé Kindal Quirk of Hermosa Beach, CA, Albert and Muriel Baki of Blairstown, NJ and Karch, August, Otto, and Ziggie Majteny of Raleigh, NC; 14 great grandchildren, Lizzie and Sam Blunk, Rachel, Connor, and Brandon Dembek, Reagan, Jack, Drew and Will Bertke, Justin and Nick Scharosch, Ellie Cochran, Magnolia Baki and Elijah Castanien; sister, Helen Patterson of Mansfield; brother, George (Norah) Stuhldreher of Lakewood; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Al Baki who preceded her in 1993, special friend Peter Zivkoff, sister and brother-in-law Betty (Andy) Kleis, brother-in-law Ted Patterson, and great nephew Bret Scanlon.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil service to begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, conducted by St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 780 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, OH 44906.

The family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the dedicated staff at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home.
