Virginia L. Dixon, age 91, of E. Third Street, Waverly, Ohio, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the S.O.M.C. Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born May 13, 1925 in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late Frank T.W. Armbruster and Bess Shafer Armbruster. On April 5, 1947 she was united in marriage to Marion H. Dixon who preceded her in death December 17, 2008. She is survived by one son of Waverly, Ohio; one daughter and husband of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; one granddaughter and husband of Waverly, Ohio; one great granddaughter of Waverly; and one sister, and husband of McDermott, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Robert F. Armbruster and Frank T. Armbruster. She was retired from the OSU Cooperative Extension Service in Pike County, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Waverly, Chapter #99, Order of Eastern Star, charter member of the Waverly Study Club, former member of the Waverly Garden Club, Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority, Waverly Homemakers Club, and was past president of the Waverly Alumni Association.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Waverly First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Richard S. Hays officiating. Burial will follow in Waverly Evergreen Union Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly.
