Funeral service for Bonnie Webb, 85, of Sterling, Oklahoma, will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2016, at the Sterling United Methodist Church with Reverend Matt Hester, officiating. Burial will follow at the Sterling Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral Home.
Mrs. Webb passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness.
Bonnie June (Lovett) Webb was born May 12, 1931 on a farm near Sterling, Oklahoma to Walter and Rena Lovett. She attended Sterling Schools where she graduated in 1949. After graduating, Bonnie lived in Lawton where she worked at Southwest Bell Telephone Company. She married Glendon Webb on March 9, 1951. They began their family in Duncan, Oklahoma where Bonnie was always involved in her children’s activities as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. In 1963 the family moved to her family’s farm outside of Sterling where she lived until her death. She was a hard worker spending many hours in her garden and helping at her husband’s machine shop. Bonnie and Glendon were active members of the Duncan Antique Car Club. After Glendon’s death in 1979, she and her son continued the business for another year. While living in Sterling Bonnie worked at Flowers, Etc. in Elgin and was a member of the Arts & Craft Club of Sterling, The Town and Country Club, United Methodist Women’s Group, and the Sterling United Methodist Church. She spent many enjoyable hours sewing, doing arts and crafts, and collecting antiques. Bonnie loved to travel. She visited her children when they lived in Washington DC, Colorado, and Texas. Her adventures included visiting her sister in Florida and their subsequent road trips camping their way back to Oklahoma. She and one of her childhood friends traveled to the Philippines and to Alaska. She also enjoyed having the opportunity to go on many memorable trips with her friends from the Duncan Antique Car Club. Bonnie was a caring wife and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her smile and outgoing spirit will be missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Bonnie is survived by 1 son, Glenn Webb; 3 daughters: Vicki Nightingale and her husband Gary, Diane Lee, and Sheila Robson; 4 grandchildren: Garrod Nightingale and his wife Rachel, Derek Nightingale and his wife Jennifer, Autumn Shady and her husband Aron, and Shannon Robson; 6 great grandchildren: Glendon, Gavin, Jade, Hugh, Matteo, and Jayce; 2 brothers: Ray Lovett and Doug Lovett and his wife Rose Elaine; and 1 sister, Doris Jean Sanders and her husband Earl (Son).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glendon Webb; her parents: Walter and Rena Lovett; 1 sister, Wanda Booth and her husband Orbin; 3 brothers: Oliver (Shorty) Lovett, Everett Lovett, and Dorman Lovett and his wife Helen; and sister in law, Helen (Hud) Lovett.
