Bernice joined the United States Army Air Corp, which later came to be The United States Air Force. He became a pilot. He also met his future bride Delores and they were married September 23, 1942.
They had four lovely girls, Linda, Paula, Martha and Dawn. Bernice attained the rank of a Full Colonial and served as a Commander of several different units during his Air Force Career. After Bernice retired from the United States Air Force he moved back to Nacogdoches and lived there and enjoyed his family and playing golf.
Bernice lived to be 85 years, 5 months and 19 days old.
