Graveside services for former North Bend resident Curtis Bohannon Oaks, 40, of Portland, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Todd Inman of the Bay Area Church of the Nazarene will officiate.

He was born June 1, 1960, in North Bend, to Jimmy and JoNell Bohannon. He died July 25, 2000, in Portland.

Curtis loved gardening, camping and the Oregon Coast beaches. His kind heart and sweet smile will be missed. He worked at American Building Maintenance in Portland.

He is survived by his parents, Wesley and JoNell Oaks of North Bend; sisters, Jana Bohannon, Angie Bohannon of Anniston, Ala., and Sherry Oaks Parise of Coos Bay; brothers, Steve and Michelle Oaks of Coos Bay and Michael Oaks of Coos Bay; aunts and uncles, Elaine Parrish of North Bend, Harold and Darlene Johnson of North Bend and Clyde and Claudette Johnson of Reedsport; and a special niece, Kerrisa Parise, whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Zollie and Irene Johnson of North Bend and Leck and Big Mama Bohannon of Anniston.
