Funeral services were held Saturday for Henry (Tank) Myers, 79, who died Aug. 30, at his home south of town after a long illness.
He was born in the vicinity of Newcomerstown, May 22, 1871 and was a retired farmer.
He was married in 1897 to Philena Dutton who died in 1922.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Clyde [William Floyd] Burdette, Uhrichsville; Mrs. Anna Grewell, West Lafayette; Mrs. Leo Stewart, Louisville, Ky.; Mrs. Wilda Wakefield, Decatur, IL; three sons, Andrew, Massillon; Neldon of Louisville, Ky.; and George of New Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Rev. J.H. Bradbury officiated at the services held at the W.E. Ourant funeral home and burial was in Pleasant View Baptist Cemetery.
Notes: Son of James & Mary Myers. Orphaned before aged 10 years old and raised in the Newcomerstown institution. Known siblings were James Myers and Francis Mamie Evans Cavener.
Died of coronary thrombosis.
