Dorothy Elizabeth Suthers, 81 of Lucasville, formerly of Columbus, passed away Monday, December 12, 2016, at Heartland of Portsmouth.
She was born September 5, 1935, in Lucasville, a daughter of the late Henry Franklin and Pearl Elizabeth Honaker Myer.
Dorothy was retired from the food service department at Siebert Elementary of the Columbus City School System, a member of the Gates Forth United Methodist Church in Columbus, and a 1953 McDermott High School graduate. Dorothy volunteered for the Campfire Girls in Columbus.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billy Richard Suthers, March 21, 1992; and her longtime friend, Paul Lute, February of 2015.
She is survived by three daughters, Sandra (Wes) Oliver of Reynoldsburg, Susan (Steve) James of Belleville, Ohio, and Sheryl Lynn George of Port Jefferson, Ohio; one son, Steven R. Suthers Sr. of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Myer of Batavia; and three sisters, Norma jean Myer of Anaheim, CA, Patricia Culp of Lucasville, and Mildred Daily of Gallipolis.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2016, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with her nephew Donnie Rachford officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and an hour before the service Saturday.
