Monta Mae Ward, age 91, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2005, at the Baptist Health Medical Center in Heber Springs. Born in Cleveland, Missouri, on June 19, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Lamont C. and Ida Mae (Meador) Ward.

Miss Ward was a retired employee of Shaffer Pen and had been a resident of Heber Springs since 1976. She enjoyed crafts and also making crafts. Miss Ward was a member of Heber Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jessie David Ward, Lamont Ward, and William "Bill" Ward, and two sisters, Amanda M. Ward and Hope Euler. Miss Ward is survived by three sisters, June Keierleber and her husband, Mel, of Wills Point, Texas, Ruth Sukow of Ocala, Florida, and Dolly Rutherford and her husband, Kenny, of Canton, Missouri; her brother-in-law, Lawrence Euler of Heber Springs; and her sisters-in-law, Eva Ward of Burlington, Iowa, and Dollie Brown and her husband, Wilbur, of Mt. Union, Iowa. Miss Ward is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, Sept. 5, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. Services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 10:00 a.m. at Heber Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Love officiating. Interment will follow in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
