My great aunt was self less woman who was a teacher and a nurse during the pioneer era of America. She was a devout Methodist and devoted to her family, her brothers and parents.

Former Resident Died in New Mexico

The death of Mrs. Emma Hutchinson, former Douglas resident, was reported this week by her brother, H. A. Gilbert. Mrs. Hutchinson who would have been 80 years old this September died May 11 at the Presbyterian hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. Funeral services were held Friday at Coldridge, Neb., where she was buried in a family grave plot.

Mr. Gilbert, better known as "Dutch" to his friends in Douglas, is spending a short time here before returning to Albuquerque where he and two brothers, George E. and Charles W. Gilbert reside.
