Jacinto José (no surname) was a Native American born at ranchería Sépponet in what is now Monterey County, California. He assumed his Christian name upon his baptism at Mission San Carlos (Carmel) on August 15, 1774, when he was about 7 years old (SC Baptism 00240). His father "Pessés" assumed the Christian name Timoteo José and his mother's Christian name was Heduvige María. Jacinto married neophyte widow María Beatriz (no surname) at Mission San Carlos (Carmel) on August 22, 1780 (SC Marriage 00161). Jacinto died at Mission San Carlos (Carmel) and was buried in the mission cemetery on September 5, 1788 (SC Death 00601).
